Since we've talked movies, what are everybody's must have disks? And don't go saying Chopin because you happen to have 1 disc mixed in with all of your N'Sync stuff, but it sounds better to say "Well, I listen to Chopin!! It's a faves list! Mine would be: Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland Pearl Jam - vs. Beatles - Help (really, all their stuff) Reel Big Fish - compilation CD I made Todd Rundgren - Best of... BB King - 20th century masters Van Halen - Women and children first

Well all but five of my CDs were stolen because they were in Jay's car when it was stolen & I didnt replace them because now I have an IPOD but my favorite songs and groups are:
Matchbox 20 Alanis Morissette Green Day Gwen Stefani & No Doubt The Offspring Sarah McLachlan Smash Mouth Sublime Train
I also like some classical when I am in the mood. My favorite would be Handel's Water Music. I also like classic rock
As far as listening to music if its not rap and its in english I tend to like it.

none.
I don't like enough music from any one particular current band to buy an album from them. The majority of my collection consists of video game music, stuff from the 70's and 80's (duran duran is one of my fav old bands), classical music, or tracker songs and remixes.
the RIAA can eat my ass.

Yeah I don't buy CDs anymore either unless I really like everything on the album or if I want to support a certain artist/movie.
My CD collection is representative of the following:
1)Musicals (Phantom of the Opera, CATS, Man of La Mancha, etc).
2)Movies (Triplettes of Belleville, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Prince of Egypt, Magnolia, etc.)
3) Mozart! (This is most of my music collection)
and that's pretty much it.
Though I do have a lot of mp3s which has a lot of 80s, and what not. I also like the Beatles (mainly their early work... anything post Yoko is kinda weird), and They Might Be Giants.

Call me a dork, but I also really like a lot of foreign music. I like salsa, african, indian, egyptian (dur), japanese (though maybe not all their pop music is great), and arabic stuff.
Europeans usually listen to American music- not a fan of many of their native bands/singers though.
I also like Bjork

The ones that mimic the United States and try to be like them, that might be true, but in Hungary, though people listen to a lot of American music, its the native bands and the bands of countries in close proximity that get the most attention. Not the case, however, regarding movies. I've been talking to a few of my friends and relatives in Hungary and the impression I get is that teeny boppers tend to listen to American music, but the most popular music tends to be German.

On the CD I have it says "Original Cast," and I think the guy who plays Don Quixote is Richard Kiley. I'm not sure who he is, but he's pretty good in this!

Best musical theatrical album bar none is Sweeney Todd. With Len Cariou as Sweeney and Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Lovett.
"There's a hole in the world like a great black pit, And its filled with people who are filled with shit And the vermin of the world inhabit it... but not for long!
You see they ALL DESERVE TO DIE Tell ya why, Mrs. Lovett, tell ya why... Cuz they ALL DESERVE TO DIE Even YOU Mrs. Lovett, even I!
For you see, there are two kinds of people in this world And Only two...
There are those who stay put in their proper place And the other with the foot in the other man's face... For the wicked life should be made brief For the rest of us death will be a relief
AND WE ALL DESERVE TO DIE!
And I'll never see Johanna No I'll never hold my girl again
HEY MISTER! HOW 'BOUT A SHAVE!? ITS YOUR OLD PAL SWEENEY! COME ON, COME ON!"

Hey there Alex! Thanks for posting and welcome!
I also like Bach- the English translation for that is Toccata and Fugue (it's the best thing to play when you're having a bad day).
