So I sent out a syndication packet out to United back in late August but I still haven't heard from them. I know it takes them forever to get back to you, but jeez I'm gettin' impatient. Maybe my rejection letter will come this month? The more and more I do this webcomic thing though the less concerned I am about getting a response. But.... I did spend hours on that packet and would like to at least know if it was worth a form letter or an individualized one (or maybe an acceptance?). I should probably send out more packets, but now I'm debating whether or not I should resize my comics to "newspaper format."

Jen: Your's is a real winner!! I really think it will go (and BIG). You have a very unique take and a your artwork is awe inspiring!!! The syndicates are something else. I sent out packets in October and the few responses mostly were form letters. Nice touch. Keep at it. Yor're a breath of fresh air!!!!

Maybe my rejection letter will come this month? I sent out packages in July, and I just got the last one back 4 DAYS AGO! Form letter, too (which is fine, because I think my stuff is much stronger now than last summer). Basically from what I can gather, if you don't hear from them right away, don't sweat it, because they're probably not interested. I should probably send out more packets, but now I'm debating whether or not I should resize my comics to "newspaper format." Is it possible to draw your strips where you could crop them for submission packages? You tend to draw 1/2 body shots, so maybe you could draw them to where you can crop to more of a bust level for the packages? Since you have, what, 500 strips, you seem to have your own format that works well webwise. Just a thought...

I've read that you shouldn't bother the Editor about your submissions unless it has been past the due date that you should be expecting a comment about your strip.
It's been over 3 months, so maybe you should e-mail United, Jen.

I've just been so unmotivated to contact any syndicates lately. I think it's the Suzie View news that really tiffed me off recently. It's putting a bad taste in my mouth.

The SV news was definitely a bummer. All the extra time I had is now down to an hour , I have to myself. I had to put my comic on hiatus. But I must give all the Cartoonists credit for holding down school, a job, and making comics. I so need all of your energy.

I saw that too. Any idea why? I never liked the "digital contract" thing. They get something basically for nothing. UPS does it too.

Are they any others with this deal at United? There are like 4 or 5 new comics there.
