Changing the topic again: what are your favorite pistol and shotgun calibres and manufacturers? For a pistol, I must confess a weakness for the Glock 21: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glock_219mm rounds are just too wimpy against armored opponents. In the North Hollywood Shootout 9mm rounds were a nuisance at best. The .45 has a little more heft to it... if it doesn't penetrate your body armor, it'll still knock the wind out of you. Plus, Glocks are famous for taking all kinds of abuse and still working. This is also easily the easiest pistol to field strip I've ever had. My pistol of choice for holding up my pillow and giving me a good night's sleep. On the shotgun side of things, I lean towards the Mossberg 590. The 590 is a militarized version of the 500: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mossberg_590I prefer pump to semi-auto: more control, fewer moving parts. And I prefer 12-gauge because they make ammo to do everything in that calibre: breaching rounds, tear gas, flares, bean bags, rubber shot, rounds for starting brush fires, rounds for downing helicopters... you name it. As a historical curiosity, I'm drawn to the LeMat revolver: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LeMatNow available as a reproduction. What are your favorite firearms?
